Andrew Roy, PE, LEED AP
PRINCIPAL
Andrew is responsible for the daily operations of the company including project management, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, advising, and general problem solving. He is highly engaged with clients and works to ensure that all expectations are met.
The Roy Company was established in 2017 by Andrew after spending more than 20 years in the field. He previously managed and supervised well-known projects for larger firms before executing his dream to start his own company. Andrew attended Wayne State University and obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Michigan. He also has a handful of certifications in construction health and safety.
Andrew takes pride in growing the abilities of the company team members. When he’s not at work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, sailing and skiing.
Ashly Palms, EIT
PROJECT ENGINEER
Ashly has worked in many capacities since joining The Roy Company. Her main focus involves project engineering and cost management. She also assists with owner’s representation services and site management. A Flint native, Ashly has worked in both the non-profit and private sector building markets.
Her college and internship experiences grew her curiosity and appreciation for building. She received a BS in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University and is currently an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the state of Michigan and intends to complete her Professional Engineering licensure soon.
In her free time, Ashly enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Justin Fowler
SITE SUPERINTENDENT
Justin began his career in the construction industry by completing a four-year apprenticeship program with the U.B.C. He went on to become a foreman responsible for the construction of multi million dollar projects and later, started his own successful contracting business where he worked with many residential and commercial clients.
He brings vast knowledge to The Roy Company in all areas in construction and especially enjoys working with trades and owners in overseeing projects from planning to completion.
Justin is a Michigan native that enjoys spending time up north with his wife and four children.
Sheila Roy
OFFICE MANAGER
Sheila has worked with The Roy Company since 2018. She manages human resources, insurance, finances – including accounts payable and accounts receivable, contract management, and payroll, among her other responsibilities.
Sheila received her degree in Business Administration from Macomb Community College.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter by going for bike rides to local shops and restaurants in her local home town, trips to the beach, camping, and nature walks.
Construction Management
Direct mangement of the construction work and contractors for projects including interior and exterior renovations, system upgrades, and structural improvements to historic and new structures.
Owner Representation
Implementation of the construction project that involves a third party construction management firm, assisting in every step of the way from budget creation to completion of the final punch list items.
Consulting
Provided on a project or issue basis, consulting projects include the preparation work before the project begins – budget creation, cost estimates, feasability studies, scheduling, permitting, and more.
